Dance Artistry Enhancement (In Person)
Level up your solo or group dance by developing authenticity and layering it into your choreography!
Service Description
Elevate your solo or group dance to the next level this competition season by layering it with authenticity, artistry and personal style. Open to students aged 7-19, regardless of experience, this program includes a comprehensive approach to enhancing authentic expression. Choreographers/Teachers are welcome to be as hands-on or as hands-off in this process as they'd like! Ahead of our time in the studio, the student will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their thoughts on their dance journey and performing in general. During a 30-minute Zoom consultation, we'll explore the dancer's mental outlook and perspective on performance, and discuss strategies to help develop and strengthen their mental resilience pre-performance. Following our Zoom consultation and questionnaire, we'll dedicate an hour in their home studio to integrate their personal style and authenticity into their solo (while maintaining the integrity of the choreography!) We'll intentionally run the solo in their familiar environment, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves fully. After the performance, we'll conduct a 30-minute debrief session to analyze unexpected factors during the performance, highlight successes, and identify areas for growth in future performances. Coach Chelsea has been a dancer, teacher, choreographer and competition judge, which means she can provide a wealth of insight and experience to help the dancers feel more relaxed and confident. She'll tailor her guidance to fit each dancer's needs, personalizing their experience and meeting them right where they are on their dance journey to help them reach their goals! Students can expect ongoing support and communication from their coach throughout the competition season, extending to questions about costumes/music selections, self-image concerns, performance anxieties, and guidance on dance competition culture and expectations. Having a coach ensures that teachers, choreographers, students and parents have access to additional guidance and insight from an experienced outside source.
